Welcome to Personalised Learning Dorset
Welcome to Personalised Learning Dorset, we are an established Alternative Provision specialising in re-engagement. We work in partnership with BCP and Dorset Council delivering a variety of exciting and engaging programs to young people and families in Dorset and beyond.
Based out of our modern, purpose-built hub in Blandford Forum, each program is tailored to the needs and strengths of the young people we support and built to stretch and challenge both academically and holistically.
Our core aim is to ensure all children are ready for a smooth transition into the next stage of their own personal life journey, whether this is a return to mainstream school, specialist provider or post 16. Personalised Learning Dorset work hard to ensure children have the resilience, confidence and correct support to be a success.
Personalised Learning Dorset is a service set up by educational professionals committed to ensuring all children have the opportunity to take part in a form of education, training or personal development even when they are not currently engaging fully in a mainstream education. We offer a range of services to support partners in local government, schools and academies as well as advice and guidance to parents and carers.
We support children with a variety of needs including young people in care, school refusers and those suffering from anxiety. We also work with those who have been permanently excluded from school, or who have behavioural and SEMH needs. We are proud of the engagement we have seen from the young people with ASD and Autism and their achievements and successes whilst working with PLD.
At Personalised Learning Dorset we recognise the need for quality provision to support children, families and referrers. We are a close team of experienced professionals with a wide range of skills and knowledge. Underpinning everything we do is a passion and desire to support children and young people so that they have the chance to reach their full potential.

We offer a highly stimulating and varied provision designed to maximise the chances of positive re-engagement in education.
All programs are carefully planned to include literacy and numeracy as well as having a strong focus on practical skills and social development. As a registered ASDAN centre we offer a wide variety of short courses and accreditations for children aged 13+, ensuring all young people have the opportunity to achieve qualifications whilst with us.
At Personalised Learning Dorset we understand the difficulties young people face in the modern world, and how important it is to have someone trusted to turn to for support and guidance when needed. Mentoring and Guidance is a vital element of the work we do and at PLD every young person will be assigned a key worker, who acts as a link between the service and home, ensuring parents/carers are fully included in their child’s successes whilst with us.
With record numbers of young people seeking out help with their mental health we put the wellbeing of the young people we support at the core of what we do at PLD. We offer a wide range of additional services that are available for all young people we work with should they require it. These are delivered by fully trained staff and can include ELSA Therapy, CBT, Anger Management and counselling, depending on the needs of each young person. Our staff are all L3 Safeguarding trained and have a wealth of experience working with young people.
