Walking Therapy

On a near weekly basis we see articles and stories in the news and social media highlighting mental health concerns in our children and young people; the figures vary but a safe estimate is that nearly 10% of all young people will suffer with some form of mental illness before the hit adulthood.

It is also estimated that 1 in 6 of all adults in the UK will suffer from some form of mental illness in their lifetime.

Following advice and guidance from Mind and Walking for Health we have decided to commit to regular walks with the young people we support, making sure that we take advantage of the wonderful Dorset countryside and coasts with weekly therapeutic walks.
